About this book, Steve Bidduplh writes “[this] book is amazing. Raising children is mostly about the day to day dedication and loving way endless and demanding needs are met, and you don’t have to read far between the lines to see how tireless, resilient and determined Rosemary has been to look after all these littlies and not-so-littlies.  I was horrified, but not surprised, to once again hear the perfidies and problems caused by government departments and academically trained but life-inexperienced social workers. I hear that so often from those on the front line. It was an education and very grounding to read the stories”

For the Love of Kids is a memoir of Rosemary’s life as a mother and foster mother. The book talks about the highs and lows, joys and heartaches, achievements and disappointments that she has been through during her years of child-rearing. I am sure a lot of parents will be able to relate to some of the stories and laugh along with her at some of them.

Rosemary also talks about the frustrations with the foster care system and the effect this system has on, not only the foster children, but the foster parents and their natural children. A number of the children that she fostered had disabilities, including one very special boy Sam who has Down Syndrome, but these were not a handicap only a challenge to be overcome.
